Hey runners, tell me when you are available for a run (conditioning) on Friday (Morning, Afternoon, Evening). Respond only if you have time to train on Friday. I will accommodate as many runners as possible.
Note: Will be interval training on the track ... possibly doing some "bare footing" on the grass ( a great training tool for strengthening ankles, knees, and hips).
Thanks to P. Mc, A. S, S. C, E. B, P. B, V. H. and R. I for running the pre-season 4km time tonight. We get to chart your improvement fothe the season. We'll get the rest of you as soon as you get to practices!!!
Time to get serious. Meet at the school at 7:00pm so that we can run a timed "race." You'll run at your current race pace. We'll record your result and see how much you can improve by the end of the season.
I decided not to bother holding practices until closer to the beginning of school. So far only 3 people have come to run. It is a sacrifice on my part (read: my family) to take time away to organize times for practice, and few people show up. We will try again later in August. I hope this simply means you are training on your own and are on holidays/working.
SPECIAL NOTE: if runners cannot run their distance at a reasonable race pace when school resumes, those athletes will not be entered in any events this year. COMMIT TO TRAINING DURING THE SUMMER ON YOUR OWN OR WITH OTHERS IF YOU CANNOT ATTEND PRACTICES THAT RESUME IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS.
